I did this once when I was a young man on a Saturn SL2.. Looked okay and mostly even but the ride and handling were awful. I had been planning to get springs for it anyway so I didn't ride around that way for very long thankfully. Seriously advise against this.

no, any springs, even the replacements are going to have coils spaced differently at different points in the spring, taking out some will make the spring work poorly, and will make your car handle like crap. If you must cut springs to lower your car, at least start with a Civic, so it will at least match the expectations for the car.

ive asked that same question a million yrs ago and got burned.
i ended up replacing the springs of my 2003 E320 with H&R.
I CANT STAND HOW IT LOOKED. it has the reverse rake stance and i hated the look of my car. eventually changed to coilovers and thats what i shouldve done from the get go. wasted money on the springs and doubled the labor cost.
my 2 cents...save a bit more for coils and youll never be happier. do it right the first time and youll never have to do it again. just me.

Never could really understand why people like it lowered. Rides harsher and I've heard my bottom scrape as it is when going over some steep bumps in a parking lot and my car is stock. Can't imagine how often that would happen once it's lowered.

goes both ways. some cant understand how some people can stand their car looking like its on stilts. one thing is for sure but, handling is better when its lowered.
prolly the same as women wearing high heals, looks so much better but i heard its a pita.

It feels way more stable when lowered going down the highway..
Thats why I prefer aftermarket air suspension with the up/down feature.. Down side is price

Yeah, but I've noticed that probably 98% of the people out there can't drive. I lose people in the turns all the time and I'm stock. The other 2% can just go ahead of me. Mine is the sport model anyway, it's already lowered an inch.

You are saying that people can't drive with cut springs?

Yep, cutting springs is stupid. Especially with how cheap springs are. People cut springs then their ride quality is out the window and the car bounces or bottoms out all the time. So silly.
Get proper lower springs if that's what you are after or get coilovers so you can adjust them to the exact look that you want.
I prefer the fenders to be right at the top of the tires. I can't stand the slammed look nor do I like the wheels tucked in the fender wells, it's silly to me.
My car is lowered with eibach springs and the front looks good to me, but the rear is about 1/2" too low in my opinion. I'm still trying to see if there are spacers I can get. I know the w209 platform you could get three sizes of coil spacers from the factory which would either lower/raise the car so people would mix and match them to get a balanced stance.
