E class coupe
Would anyone else buy one, if Mercedes offered a W211 coupe? I personally don't like the looks of the new CLK, and think that the CL is very beautiful but targeted for the older consumers. An E class coupe would be the awesome solution to this dilemma. Any thoughts?

Interesting....I would buy an e211 cabrio real 4 seater but maybe the new clk convertible will have 4 real seats unlike the present clk,A 211 coupe might work but all the models start blending into one another

E-coupe coming!!
AUTO zeitung is reporting an upcoming E-class coupe! From the picture it appears to have suicide rear doors and no B pillars. This should be very handsome indeed.

I don't understand why mercedes have based the CLK on the C klass, I personally consider it a coupe version of the all popular E klass because:
1. They are quite similar in design, they have always been through the history of MB.
2. The coupe is always launched immedaitely after the E klass which gives me the impression they are based on the same development board.
3. The C klass already has a coupe version, why not consider the CLK a coupe version of E klass?
to me, this is what it should look like:
CLK & E = CE & E
C & C coupe ( new partnership)
S & CL = SEL & SEC
Just my opinion
thanks

CLK is a C
Ahmed, the CLK is based on the C-class chassis that is why it is not considered a coupe version of the E. It is narrower, shorter and lighter.
If you remember the E class always has had a coupe version (prior to the current model) and it has always been a very elegant car. The CLK is handsome in it's own right but just does not seem to have the classy looks (or room) of an E-coupe.

I agree Ahmed...I think MB would have been smarter to forgo the CLK...make ONE version of a C class coupe....more between the C coupe and the CLK....and revived the E class Coupe/Cabriole...
A new 211 Coupe will be too close to the 209...I think most would spring for the extra 10K or so a nab the the 211 Coupe.
