Unhappy A/C and radiator fan not working???

2008 E350,73k miles
Texas
This is my first post
I have owned the car since 2010 (wifes car)
The other day she said the a/c was not working and I went to look at it. The a/c red light blinks a few times and will not turn on. The MAX COOL does the same thing. I thought low freon and checked it with engine on and my little charging gauge pegged out to the max. This told me the compressor was not working. I looked for leaks etc.. with the engine running and everything looks good. I did notice that the radiator fan was not turning at all. This car normally sounds like a JET ENGINE. They replaced the fan assembly in 2010 under warranty but said they all did that.

I have searched the site and the web to see if the two are connected.
Here is what I have done.
Launch Creader Tester= No fault codes.
Checked all fuses in car and trunk
Tested the fan plug pin 1 and 2 12volts with ignition on
Put 12volts to pin 1 and 2 on the fan and got nothing at all.

The car does not get hot but it was only in the drive of my house
I just wanted to run it by y'all before i order a new fan assembly.
Thanks in advance

You have at least 9 sensors that affect the system work, so try by error method can take lot of time and money.
If you have climatronic with REST button, you can read the sensor values on it.
If not, get a scanner that can read AC sensor and post the numbers here.

I just checked and I do not have the rest button. Did I test the fan correctly by unplugging it and supplying pin 1 and 2 (the large pins) with 12 V?

Those fan are computer controlled. Jumping them with 12V might have bad side effect.
Get a computer that will allow you operate those things the right way.
BTW I love the options that come with REST so much, that on our 2008 model replaced the factory climatronic with one that has it.
It was like $45 on ebay and 1/2 hr of work to plug it.
