Catalytic Converter help
Had all 4 cylinders misfire on the driver's side of my 2003 E500, was told that my converter may be clogging up (I have been hearing a rattle for sometime in the exhaust).
Questions:
Are there aftermarket parts available
Would you replace the converters only or do complete new from front to back?
Any advise & your thoughts or links to parts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Just replace the converter. But you also have to figure out why your converter is clogging if this in fact is why you have the bank 2 misfire. is this for your 03? replacing can get expensive depending on where you live. If you live in CA, you will be limited t where you can get a converter which is why I say it can get expensive.

AGM18; I will check local parts houses to see what they offer
angelglo; Yes this is on my 03 E500, I live in small town Kentucky where there are no vehicle emission tests. Vehicle has had a rattle for a month or so now in the location of the CATS. Shop that has always worked on car (replaced my suspension with Arnott spring/shocks, oil changes etc.) ran the codes and said all 4 cylinders on driver's side misfired. I've been considering adding a diverter to bypass the mufflers when I drive it & keep it quiet when the wife has it. Just thinking now might be the time to jump on this!!!

Follow up!!!! The back 2 CATS have been taken care of & car is back on the streets!!!
