Squeaky rear suspension

Hi. Have a 2007 E350 4MATIC with 223,000km the rear suspension makes this squeak sound. I don't really hear it over the bumps. Only when you sit into the car or when you push on the car. But it sometimes goes away after a rainstorm ish

Anyone know what it might be?

First step is a visual inspection, make sure that they aren't leaking oil. If they're very dirty you might have to wipe them off and check back after a few days. Shocks usually start leaking at the top, where the piston enters the body of the shock. A shock/strut that's leaking is on borrowed time.

Next, the bounce test. Just like what you've done in the video, push down on each corner a few times and let go. If the car keeps bouncing, the shock on that corner is likely bad. You might also notice the car squatting more than usual when accelerating if the rear shocks are worn.

Since the noise seems to go away after rain (when the rubber parts are wet...) I would also take a close look at all of the rubber bushings and check for deterioration.

thanks. Will bring it in to my mechanic to see what they say.

When I asked Mercedes, they said there are several bushings. As the suspension is a multi-link suspension. It's a regular suspension not airmatic

i do find the car a bit tilted. But only in the front. I don't know if it's just me. But a bit odd

The regular shocks are filled with oil, which can leak if the piston seal deteriorates. You'll see wetness on the shock body if that's happened. Pretty common way for shocks to fail.

Could be a broken spring? I had one on the rear of my E350 that dropped the ride height a little bit. Just the bottom coil had broken off.

Hi. Just went out to test it. I find that the suspension is only making noise when there's weight on it. Like someone is sitting in the car alreday. Then someone else sits in the car. There is no oil leaking from the shocks

Lightbulb

It might possibly be coming from sway bar bushings. Car I drive is squeaking in front & rear & sounds very similar. I originally thought noises were coming from coilover shocks so had all 4 corners replaced with new. Noise did not go away. I'm going to be lifting car this week to see if I can replicate these noises & silence them with some gasket sealant if so.
