What is THIS?

Please chaps, your assistance. What is the part the black-clad finger is pointing to? Whatever it is, it's cracked and I need a new one for my 2007 W211. Thanks.

What is this? A track arm?

It is the steering knuckle. I wouldn't drive it with it cracked. It's about $500 and you will need to press out ball joints.
