03' E500 vs. 04' E500

03' E500 vs. 04' E500
Few questions, I have just ordered my E500 04'. But I have noticed that no magazines have tested the 04's I wanted to see if anyone here can give me rought numbers for acceleration for the 04' vs. 03' due to tranny?

I've got an '04 E-500. Power everywhere at any speed. Very Quick. I believe that down the line they may come out with some computer programming updates to smooth out the downshifts when coming to a stop from a pretty low speed, (especially in cold weather with a cold car) but other than that, it always seems to be in the right gear all the time & upshifts are seamless. Besides, the ET's you are looking to see are going to be fractions of a second away from last year's. Can you actually FEEL that?

The thing is, I will not truly be 'racing' the car. I just want to have the "bragging rights" You know? Bottom line is, when I drove the car on the test drive, the torque was crazy for me, but then toward the top end, it drops off. Very different for me, being that I drive a low 13's S2000 for a daily driver. Much different. But better for the circumstances of having a baby on the way.
As for the numbers, I have seen on some german sites, that the 0-100 Kph, is .3 faster, so if the 0-60 is basically .3 faster, then the 1/4 should be around .5 faster, which would be noticable.

I had an '03 until October of last year when it was replaced with an '04.
Honestly, the transmission is a marked improvement over the '03s, but as for acceleration--frankly, I can't tell the difference. I race Corvettes (and lose) to them sometimes, though. Just the other day, I kicked a RX8's ***!
