Extended Warranty Question

Extended Warranty Question
I perched the Extended Warranty 2 & ½ months ago from Lisa Lehrbaum in Ca. As of today I have not received anything from MBUSA, I Emailed Lisa and she told me that it takes 3 months for MBUSA to issue the papers. Has anyone experienced this strange delay?

Ext warranty
I purchased my ext warranty on delivery Dec 23 2003. I called MB last week to ask if I was supposed to get a confirmation or a booklet or ID card like GM does with Major Guard Warrantees and was told that all I get is the contract that I signed at the dealer. I even faxed (in PA) the dealer this question, last week... Today (4/14) I received an extended warranty booklet and ID card attached into the back cover Just like GM does from MBs office in NJ. So, obviously it takes them a long time to get them out. ...The book is custom laser printed with your name & vin throughout. It says to keep the book with your papers & keep the card in the glove box... so hang on, they're coming.

This is not recent but I purchased an extended warranty for my 1999 Mercedes. Never got anything or if it did, it was so insignificant that I have misplaced it. But when I go to the dealer and they enter the VIN number on their computer connection to MB, the warranty is listed and everything is taken care of. Never had a problem with the warranty at all even without paperwork.
The ease of the warranty work on this car is on reason I bought my 2003 E320 even with all of the stories of unreliability in the news and on this forum. Mercedes has always treated me properly and will probably buy some more Mercedes in my lifetime.

Yep, it should be in the system. If they key-in the VIN number it should show that your warranty expires at the term of the extended warranty. If you bought a 2004, the system should show that the warranty expires in 2012...

I tried to buy the extended warranty from Lisa, but she turned out to be a big waste of time.... She never returned any phone messages and never sent any info about the coverage in e-mail or snail mail as promised by her ( and I'm only about 1 1/2 hours drive away)... I figured right away I did'nt need to do business with this type of person.... I ended up buying an extended warranty from mercedes when I picked up the car. It turned out to be hastle free and $75.00 cheaper than lisa's quote. I paid $1875.00 for the 7 year 100,000 mile plan. Of coarse, thanks to this board I was up on the prices and able to negotiate a good deal on it...

As of this morning Lisa still has not responded to any of my questions. But I do have a question for those of you who have been successful in negotiating what seems to be a good price. What, if any, is your deductible. I asked for a quote for a zero deductible. 7/100 came in at $2,680, 6/100 at 2,190, and 5/100 at $1,780.

BTW, Lisa is in CA, and she calls back usually at the end of the day, e-mail will work better, lisamariechico@yahoo.com

Just talked to Lisa who quoted $1,690 for three more years, zero deductible. My car is close to 20,000 mile for the first year. Her toll free number is (888) 321-7349. She was very courteous and efficient. Don't know about the other problems you folks have encountered with her. Guess I'll find out.

I put in my "application" for an extended warranty with my dealer on January 27 and paid $1,760. I still don't have anything from MBUSA. When I call to ask about it, my dealer just keeps telling me they have a record of it and not to worry. Two and a half months is ridiculous! But thanks, Barry, for the reassurance. Maybe I'll just go with the flow for awhile and it will finally turn up!
By the way, I talked with Lisa when I was shopping for an extended warranty. She was very helpful and very courteous and prompt in her reply. But I chose to go with the dealer that sold me my car because their price was virtually identical--maybe a few dollars less than hers.

How Long To Wait
Well, you know when I purchased & when I got the folder. It takes them forever...but the truth is you have a signed contract & a paid receipt from the selling dealer for the ext warranty. It took MB almost 4 months to get the booklet to me.

Hell ona Harley...
Would you mind posting dealer and contact info (salesman) on your warranty? Looking to lock in within the next week or two on a 7/100 contract and it sounds like you got a fairly good deal. Thanks.

Extended Warranty
I got my Extended Warranty at Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach and recieved the packet within two weeks. Go figure. And they matched the internet price, although NOT very thrilled about doing so.

I got mine last week from MB of Laguna Niguel for $1670. They immediately beat Lisa's price and matched lowest I'd seen on internet. Very Courteous. After picking up my car for completion of routine maintenance the day after I got the warranty, my service advisor said it was already noted in their computer system. While it may take a while to get the warranty book, you don't really need it as the warranty is coded to your VIN and, therefore, accepted by any MB dealer.
