Feedback On Grille Repacement
Hi guys!
New to forum and am really interested in input on the pro's and con's of replacing the center grille on my 2007 E350 Sport. I love the classic look of the factory grille but thought an updated grille with center emblem might help resale at some point and give the car a sharper look.
The car is Artic White with black leather interior. All feedback welcomed.
Thanks!

Generally speaking, "customizing" a car won't increase its resale value. Do it because YOU want to; don't do it because you think the next guy will want it.

Yeah, generally customizing a car actually lowers retail value. It makes the buyer wonder what other mickey mouse things did the owner do. That's why the car the little old lady drove to church on Sunday is ideal. Never the one that was customized. Leave it alone for maximum retail value.

Not a fan at all of the center emblem grills.. they just don't look right at all on the w211 platform to me. Our CLK had the center emblem and it looked OK, but I always wanted a MB with the hood ornament...lol
The grills I've seen on the w211 that have the Star in the grill just looks out of place. Produces a weird goofy look to the front end.

Grills with the MB star on them look like **** on E-classes. Don't do it.
Never do any mods to a car expecting them to raise the value of it past what you paid for the part/install. There's a reason why a lot of people with modded cars put them back to stock and sell the mods separately. Cosmetic mods are iffy if other people will like them and something modded for power means it's been beat on according to a lot of people.

While car shopping last year for a W211 I found a nice black 2003 E500 with relatively low mileage for it's age. Drove beautifully but one thing that made me cringe about the vehicle was the prior owner had replaced the factory grille with an aftermarket large star one. Looked godawful in my opinion - ended up buying another 2003 E500 that was bone stock.
