the eagle has landed - e320 CDI
This is my second 320 CDI......W210 was the first. Now my new E320 CDI (211).
The car just goes like a rocket......THe torque accros all the R.P.M.
range is unbelievable for a diesel engine .
You do notice the diesel sound of the enjine from start up slightly but hardly heard after.
Fuel econemy is no doubt the winer with this engine.
Freeway driving at 70 M.P.H. will return close to 40 M.P.G. +
I often drive between 80 to 100 M.P.H. from England to Belgium 700 mile round trip and even these speeds I get 36 M.P.G.
My wife goes to work in heavy traffic stop start stop start and still get around 30 M.P.G.
ALL M.P.G. quoted in imperial gallons (U.S. gallon = 5/6 imperial)
The diesel is more inviroment friendly less polution on the emisions than the gasoline engine.
DON,T FORGET DIAMLER BENZ MADE THE FIRST DIESEL ENGINE SOME 80 YEARS AGO.
WELL DONE MERCEDES ON AN ECCELENT ENGINE
am i the only one that experienced torque problems into the normal cruising? I had an old E270cdi but into the every day drive (so without pushing it hard) it gave me back more torque at a lower rpm. It seems that my new E320cdi is to calm for having 204hp....the power erogation is smoother and it takes a long time to switch from a gear to the next one, so it seems to much undecided.
Maybe it is a control gearbox software problem?
Bye bye tebalto
