Slow Speed "Clunk"

2006 W211 4-Matic, 189,000 Miles

Drives great other than this one issue. At speeds less than 10 MPH or so have a clunk that seems to come from the rear. Kind of sounds like when a 4 wheel drive vehicle is driven on dry pavement and the tires kind of "wind-up" and then release.

Goes away as soon as I accelerate (or at least becomes imperceptible).

Thanks for looking at this,

Kirk

Take an oil sample from your rear differential. Is it sparkly (has metal dust in it)?

If you can snag a vide of the sound it may help. Is it a consistent noise like something coming from the drivetrain? I'd check out all rear suspension components/bushings. If you need help once you figure it out and it is suspension related, as ollo mentioned, be sure to check out our tech library (posted below). Let me know if you need any parts help.
