Unhappy Help Guys!!!

I am in Pennsylvania and went to a local dealer to order E500. Obsidian black, charcol, wood wheel, Panarama roof, Nav, Lighting package, entertainment and comfort packages all for a grand total of of $64,935. He said the only discount he can give me is $1500. This dosen't seem right. And with $10,000 down on a 39month 12,000 mile lease payments would be $840.00. Does anybody think I am getting ripped off? What should residuals be for the E? I'm trying to get a 2004 so need to make a move fast. What are some of your payments and discounts?

I dunno but that down payment sounds awfully large for a lease. If it were a purchase - fine but thats still a nice bundle.
Walk away - I have seen people on here get much better deals than that.
Contact Marcusbenz - he is reputable and has great deals.

Cheers!

Sounds about right.

Residual on a 39 month lease is about 60% fof the purchase price.

As for putting money down on a lease, it is not a bad thing. It goes towards cap cost reduction.

I just leased a similar vehicle for 39 months but put nothing down and my pymnts are in the mid 900's. I also got 1500 off of the sticker, so it sounds like a very similar deal.

I don't know what the residual value or money factor is nowadays, but it seems that $840 is about $100+ USD too high.

Go to www.mbusa.com and configure the car with the options you list. On 39 mo / 12K miles, with 1500 (+1000 to adjust for mbusa price inflation) down the monthly payment is 990 USD.

With 10,000 + 1500 + 1000, the payment is 703 USD.

In any event, I agree with Silver_Lana. 10K is an awfully large down payment for a lease.

(Has anybody noticed (knows why) MBUSA.com adds 1K extra to the MSRP of the E500?)

they should get you a better deal because of all the options you are ordering, thats where they are making more money, and thats where they should be more lenient, something they arent doing though, i saw walk away, or ask for more of a discount. GL

Walk AWAY!!!

Ten thousand is a lot to put down on a lease. Talk to MarcusBenz. I've heard he's gotten as much as $4500 off the MSRP for some members. Ask him questions, from what I know he's a pretty good salesman. Also, nine hundred for a lease is also alot might as well purchase the vehicle for that kind of money.

But when you purchase this kind of vehicle, that finance rate goes up and up alot more than $840.

Wait, you're putting down 10K for a lease, are you insane??!!!

Man, buy the damn thing after you get the most amount off the MSRP and save that 10K as it'll gradually diminish when your finance number has gone way higher than an 840 lease.

DO NOT put any money down on a lease.

If your car is ever stolen or totalled, that money is history.

I second this!

Don't forget to multiply the money factor by 2400 to get the interest rate. That might help in determining if you want to buy the car instead.

The dealer doesn't care which way you go because he still gets his.
