OM642 undertray bolts
Thought I'd share some info
I took off my metal engine undertray on my 2008 e280 cdi and the bolts were all stripped, and one hanging out. It's late here so i thought I would run a tap through the clips in the car and put some new bolts in. Don't want the tray falling off.
All I did was wreck my tap, not sure if it is because chinesium or those clips are really hard. I suspect they are intended to mangle the bolts so they don't rattle out. This means you probably should replace bolts and clips each time you pull the undertray. Yuk
I think I will try to find some more standard clips, and use a spring washer and locktite. I don't like these one use things
Hope that was helpful to someone.
