Does my car have TPMS sensors?
I'm getting new wheels and tires for my car and can't find a solid answer on if a 2008 W211 E350 (US) has TPMS sensors at the valve stems inside the wheels.
From what I saw on another post, ours cars have an indirect TPMS that uses the ABS sensors to calculate if a tire is rotating slower (thus low on air).
So does that mean my car doesn't have TPMS sensors at the wheels? Just trying to figure out if I need to buy new ones for my new wheels, and if I don't will my TPMS light always be on?
Thanks!

Mine 2008 does have TPMS and 2nd set of wheels I bought from another 2008 does have them as well.
Not the best system, but once warned me about low air.. after driving 1/4 mile of flat.
You can tell it by thicker steams.

I'm not sure about the E350, but I know on the E63 wheels that if you have a rubber valve stem you do not have TPMS. If it's solid then the car is equipped.

Just use the VIN decoder to see if you have the tire pressure sensors. For 2008, it does, some earlier years didn't. The regular E350 just has the low line which just tells you if a tire is low, the newer ones and E350/E63 had the high line which gives you the tire pressures of individual tires.

Just replaced 4 TPMS sensors on my '09 E350
My '09 E350 is equipped with the low line TPMS which just tells you if a tire is low. The TPMS systems dash light came on last month indicating a system malfunction. Costco had quoted me around $80 per sensor installed (4 req.). I stopped by Discount Tire yesterday as I needed two new rears tires (staggered setup). He placed a mobile scanner by each wheel and two of the TPMS sensors were finally dead after eight years. Of course the two bad sensors were not on the tires I was replacing.
He initially quoted me $60 per sensor installed. Before I had a chance to tell him I wanted all four replaced, the manager offered to replace all four for $160. Needles to say I jumped at his offer. TPMS dash light is now out, Seems the life of these sensor batteries is around 7 to 9 years.
