Visit Workshop (Battery) & NO power steering after puddle

Heavy rains today after hurricane harvey, drove through a puddle I couldn't avoid. Parked car for moment, started up fine, as I got onto highway, red Visit Workshop (Battery) came on and lost power steering. Temp climbed about 20 degrees above normal but came back down about 10, held about 10 degrees hotter than normal with radiator fan running high.

Got the vehicle home, checked voltage, about 11.4 last I checked. Car will start, but voltage will not come back to 14 and still have no power steering.

Will let the vehicle sit for a day to dry and see what happens when I start it back up then post with an update.
Meanwhile, any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

Have you raised the hood and checked to ensure the serpentine belt is still on the pulleys?

I can't believe I didn't think of this, that was it. I went over railroad tracks right after the puddle, so I'm guessing the puddle got the belt wet then the tracks knocked it off.

Going to the parts store for a belt, thanks gents!

Belt should not come off by water alone. Check your idler pulleys as they are known weak points.

This was it, strange timing I guess. New pulley and belt and she's back on the road
Thanks for all the input!
