Mirror Parking Position

Hi Everyone,
I am curious to see if the 'Parking Position for Exterior Mirrors' is a World Wide option, or is it fitted only on desiginated countries?

This is NOT the folding mirrors, but the nearside exterior mirror moving down to give you a view of the kerb when you put the vehicle into reverse.

It is a very good idea and well worth having, wife loves it and seperate settings are put into the key 'memory'.

Thanks for your help,
John

I think this only comes as standard if you have the memory seat option.

A very helpful reply.

I have the memory seat option, so naturally have asumed that the mirror function was a seperate issue.

Thanks very much indeed.

John

We have it here and it is a useful feature. Before I used to attach a convex mirror to keep from banging into the curb. I have the memory seats so I can't vouch for a car without the comfort package.

I have it over here also.... I agree its nice, but seems about 1 time out of twenty it doesn't return to its original position when the car is put into drive and I have to reset it myself....

Yeah I have that too and since two people drive this car, inclusive of myself, it often gets confused and does not roll down. ALso, I have to press my memory seat button all the way to the end, meaning til all my settings are established again, for it to move down when put into reverse

Yeah, I've had it too...about once every 2 weeks. These cars ARE quirky, but so far the problems seem to fix themselves by the next day....

Reminder for those having problems, the right hand mirror button needs to remain depressed for proper operation.

Too bad most most of the threads involved with this give improper instructions for setting the mirrors...

1) the setting for the mirror, although not for each 1-2-3 memory setting, is still per key (if the key memory setting is activated in the kombi settings menu)

2) to store the position, the key sequence is M then DOWN within 3 seconds

3) to use the feature, the mirror button must be in the passenger side setting, the car must be in reverse, and the function must be activated via kombi settings menu

I believe all these are spelled out quite well in the owner's manual included with US cars. Not sure about the manual for other countries though.
