E320 v.s. E500
I wish I could get the gas mileage some quoted here. On the August 2002 build E500, I averaged 13.5 mi/gal over the 6,000 or so miles I put on until late July '03. On the current E500, I've averaged 12.5 mi/gal over the first 8500 miles.

I by no means meant any offense. And yes, they call it University of Spoiled Children. In my case, since I put myself through there at night, it should be Univ. of Spoiled Adults,

And I am certainly not of such lofty status as to be able to look down on *any*one. Leasing works great through your Sub-chapter "S" corp. :p
Yep, 320 and 500 share the prestige and snob-appeal, especially to non-mb'ers who are ignorant of the differences between designations. Body looks the same, right?
I just thought that for the money, the 500 offerred a lot more features in which I was interested.
Again, I didn't mean to condemn or accuse, or insult anyone. I was just pointing out what I think when I see E320's.

you do sound like a snob saying that..i drive an 04 e320..i could easily afford an e55 or an s500 on my own,im 21,but what the hell would i want those cars at my age for? what am i going to want in 4-5 years from now,and no my parents dont pay for ****,i do everything on my own,im very satisfied with my e320, all tho like someone else said a few post ahead of me,i could of got an e500 for the price i got my e320 and yes im leasing, that doesnt mean jack,i like to get new cars every 2-3 years, you do sound like a snob...i dont look down on people for cars they have..if i see someone in a ****ty c class,i dont care,id still rather drive any benz than most other cars on the road..and the difference on the e55 to e500 is wayyyyyyyy bigger than e500 to e320..big time difference if you ask me,o well..were all snobs sometimes i guess

I find that with todays horrible speed restrictions, a high horsepower car is an easy way to get a ticket. At the same time you need enough power to provide good control and response. I think the E350 will be about ideal. I'm also not a fan of air suspensions so the purchase of the 350 will be an easy choice for me.
In the meantime, I'm switching to the E320 CDI. I will then most likely get an E350 as soon as it becomes available.
I voted with my pocketbook by getting a highly optioned E320 as an alternative to a stripped down E500. Sure, I would have loved to have the E55 but I have every desirable option on my E320 that I could have had on the E55 other than the horsepower - and where I live there are no highways that allow me to go over 65 mph anyway.

Some would say that the E320 being lighter by ~120 lbs makes it more nimble, but I have a tough time believing that that amount of weight would make any significant difference.
P.S. The E320 purchase was not a stretch - so that argument is just BS.
I don't get to write it off legitimately or illegitimately.
I bought the MB, because I like MB for the safety and quality. If some people are so full of themselves the they have to think this of others, oh well so be it.
I would rather have an E270cdi with 4matic if there was such a beast that could be imported into the USA.
IMHO, the extra horsepower is nice for those of you that like to have it, but it is pretty much useless here in the USA.
Besides... I am used to driving faster than 99% of the rest of you and burning enough kerosene as it is....

So how is this for being arrogant!
