Auto braking what are you doing?
My 08 280cdi scared me the other day. Coming up to a set of lights, they changed and I hit the brakes somewhat quickly, but not very forcefully.
The brake pedal accelerated away from under my foot, hitting the firewall with a this. There was nose bleeding braking for a split second then the pedal came back to my foot and I slowed down the last bit gently to a stop.
I don't have distronic and there were no cars in front.
What the hell happened?

That I believe was just brake assist. It probably just monitors the speed from which you go from the gas to the brake. Regular speed nothing happens, but if you do it quick, they go to maximum. Only had it happen once to me, switching lanes and check the traffic in the next lane and then the guy in front slowed down so I jammed on the brakes quick and it did a little extra.
