Transfer case needs replacing - 2006 E500, low miles
My 2006 E500 transfer case needs replacing, have replaced fluid twice and added shudder stop. Car only has 51K miles. Mercedes Benz dealer and USA rep will not help at all!! Ideas?

Put a new transfer case in it? Or look for a used one, as they are quite expensive.
What actually failed? Possible to repair/rebuild depending on what happened.
Why would MB dealer/rep help, the car is 12 years old... at least 3x out of warranty.

Have dealer check VMI to see if VIN is included in SC 2007100004 if applicable and has yet to be completed you are entitled to no cost TC replacement. Other than this, only way MBUSA “may” offer goodwill assistance is if vehicle has been consistently maintained through MB dealership.
