2007 e350 merc wagon
200,000 miles on the car

have added three quarts in last 1200 miles

no leaks under car or from exhaust

any ideas?

Did you actually remove the belly panels to check for a leak or are you just looking on the ground?
What prompted you to add oil? Is it just the sensor on the dash that's telling you to? Have you verified the oil level with a dipstick or by draining?

I believe I had my numbers above wrong.
Seems like 1 quart per 1000 miles is when I've added.
And, was told when I have my next oil change they will install new oil filter that will help. Last change was about 10,000 miles ago.

1 quart in 1,000 miles is what some mechanics would say is acceptable consumption.
I wouldn't, but some would.
If there's a leak, the belly panels should catch it. Compression test is a good call too.
