2009 E350 radio device not available and no sound

2009 E350 radio device not available and no sound
Few days back my battery drained out and had to jump start since then radio says device unavailable and when i try using my SD card music there is no sound.
I did fuse trick removed fuse number 26 & 6 but it did not help.
Somewhere I read on these forums and remove your -ve battery terminal and reset it.
I am hesitating in doing that looking at some messages from people that you will need some codes for command and air bag warning lights come on etc etc.
Can someone guide what to do ?

Hi can you tell me what you did in a little more detail? My battery died and is now back up and running but I have no sound coming from the radio and it says device not available. Did you only disconnect the negative on the battery? How long did you leave it disconnected? Also (maybe stupid question) was the car on or off when you disconnected it. My dad is going to help me with this but I need to tell him the instructions. He is good with cars but I am better not he computer searching forums!

I have a 2009 MBZ E350 AMG.
I too was hesitant, till I read 2 back to back suggestions that said it worked…
I had tried removing fuse 26 & 28 in driver’s side panel and got no results.
Then I did a complete Command center reset and got nothing, but lost my radio stations and had my IPhone Bluetooth connection get dropped (both obviously easy fixes later).
I even scheduled an appointment with my local dealership at $280 an hour for diagnostic help, perhaps a error code clearing or software update I thought.
Then I took a chance and unplugged my Negative Battery terminal (while the engine was off), close my truck and walked away for 15 minutes.
Upon returning with battery disconnected, I had to use my tiny valet key inside the Fob to open my trunk manually by the license plate.
My suggestion, if you can leave the trunk lid open while waiting, leave it open.
Then I connected my Negative battery terminal and tightened both Positive and Negative bolts nice and sung.
Everything worked again like normal again! Radio, CD, Nav…
I only had to reprogram my radio stations and reconnect my Bluetooth to my IPhone.
I am sharing every little detail to walk you through my personal experience.
Don’t be afraid, the old battery Negative terminal disconnect trick always works!
