La Power Bluetooth A2DP USB adapter

I’ve installed it in my SL55 in place of the CD changer — used the CDC’s MOST plug and tapped into its power line.
It’s weird because most of the time the COMAND isn’t even recognizing anything is plugged in (CDC disappears from the list). But the blue light (and not the other light) is on and my phone connects to the device.

This LaPower/Mr12V sounds like a great bluetooth option, however I wonder if there is anything similar to also include video. My comand unit hat an analog TV tuner which is now useless, but even more important that than, I would love to be able to have Waze/Google Maps showing in the unit somehow, do any of you have any insights on this? I've been looking for a device to do this but no luck at all

Yes you can do screen mirroring if you have the green farka antenna. It's more complicated and I personally have not done it. The SLK world guy's figured it out a while ago.
Search the net for "NTG 1 Video" Do you have a NTG 1 head unit?

Are all the dip switches OFF? I would switch each one ON & OFF. Press the reset a few times. When you unpair the phone can you see the red light? Leave it hooked up for about 5 minutes without doing anything, My son's 05 c320 took about 2 minutes to be recognized . Otherwise contact the seller, I think you might have a defective unit.
(You cannot, however, stream through USB)
thanks for the help @Pmarino!

Just as an update from me for the forum’s benefit, I had the wrong device. I accidentally ordered a BMW variant. MB variant worked immediately — have Bluetooth streaming audio from Spotify (or any other app) and can control with steering wheel.

In Pmarino's video, the CD player was removed from the dash - on your vehicle, the CD is in a different location - behind the drivers seat. Did you just relocate/wire the Mr. 12V unit into the center console?
Thank you.

850csi - Is this Mr. 12V device specific to your 2007/2008 SL - Are there differences from a 2004 SL device and a 2007/08 SL device? Fiber Optics, connections, etc?

So I think this should work with any 2005-2008 SL.
I simply removed the CD changer from the storage cubby behind the driver seat, spliced the Mr12v device’s power cable into the CDC’s power line, and plugged it in with the new power line and the CDC’s MOST plug. I leave the device in the cubby — I think I’m going to “mount” it inside the cubby with some velcro tape. There’s really no need to have ready access to it.

Selecting the music I play
Don't quote me on this but I believe, at least for the US, 2003-2004 R230s use NTG1 COMAND and d2b while 2005-2008 R230s use NTG2 and MOST.
So I think this should work with any 2005-2008 SL.

The Archos let me select music [via it's screen] random - A-Z - By Artist - custom playlist or any file that I can create when I have the Archos connected to my PC where it will show up as an additonal HD when connected
The screen size is 3.5 x 2 inches
The outside dimensions are 3x5 inches
This is just an example of custom list

Are you saying you have successfully (with #4 on) paired one iphone to Mr12volt for bluetooth streaming AND the factory MB bluetooth for phone functionality? Does it work good?

Has anyone ever gotten the 'Unspecified CD Error' with using Mr12v? Seems to happen if I stress the thing out messing with it too much like switching between sources, walk out of my car to with phone (while on and paired) then return to car, or sometimes when phone calls start/end. basically I get the message then CDC disappears from the list on command and it doesn't come back until I restart the car.
Also been having some issues with the phone functionality lately. It was working fine but now, If I call someone, the command shows the number being called but when they answer, the command screen switched back to BT_Audio mode and displays Track 2 but the person is still on the Phone. OR I call someone and when they answer, the audio just doesn't work (but remains paired to CarKit) and I have to switch to my phone as the source so they can hear me. When this occur, I also end up getting the error and CDC disappears from list. Its quite annoying. Anybody ever have any of these issues?
Lastly, can someone link a good fiber extension cable? The link earlier in this thread was to a loop, not extension. Will this work?

If you tried resetting it and it's still acting up.....Sounds like it may be on the way out?
I have not tried that. I use 2 devices. My LG V20 is my multimedia device (MMD), no sim, running mostly spotify. My iphone is my "phone." I don't know why that wouldn't work though ?
I do have switch #4 turned "on" in my ml500, it has a factory installed phone (fip). My cell phone is connected to factory phone. My MMD is paired via Mr.12V to the comand.
The 2 loops become an extension. You have to take them apart and reconfigure them.

I've paired an iphone XR to both the factory bluetooth adapter in my 2008 MB E300 symultaneously with the Mr12V adapter. I'm able to take and make phone calls through the factory BT adapter as well as play audio through the Mr12V adapter over BT. When a phone call comes in or I start to dial out, the audio pauses playing (as expected) and resumes playing when the phone call terminates. It works well.

was the car on when you made changes?
Example of the order:
1. First unpaired both devices? Reset mr12v?unplugged mr12v?
2. Connected mb Bluetooth?
3. Plugged in 12v?
4. connected mr 12v ?
5. Etc.
I’m having trouble getting it to work. I switched #4 on with car on and mr12v connected to car and phone. Then reset it. After reset, the car kit didn’t show up in Bluetooth options on my iPhone anymore.
I turned 4 back off and tried connecting the mb phone and car kit. This actually works but it still is a crap shoot on which one command uses when making calls. Sometimes it’s mb, sometimes it’s the mr12v. Weird.
For the record—My mb Bluetooth always worked great before install. Cd changer worked great before I installed mr 12 v. Command is up to date.
this is the second module I’ve had. Both have done the same thing. I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks for the help.

Hello,
I’m from Germany and I have an Command System (NTG2) and I am interested to know something more about this thing.
Could anybody say something about the max Track amount per Folder?
Do I only unplug my Cd Changer and plug this thing in or do I need to do something more?
Thank you very much for reading and for answering my questions.

I don't know if there is a limit per folder. I fill my SD card with dozens of song files and it plays them. It's a pain to scroll through songs though. The UP/DOWN buttons move forward/backward through the list but there will be points when the list needs to be refreshed (after showing so many song names) and it will pause. That means you have to stop scrolling until the player catches up.
It replaces the CD changer, yes.

FYI, the https://www.mr12volt.com/ website has improved slightly. I'm still not sure if this is the manufacturer, or just a re-seller. Units can be found for cheaper than on the mr12volt.com website (i.e. ebay or even Amazon); I have purchased 2 units in the $150 range on ebay.
Also, attached is a pdf of the DIP switch settings that I found on the web page above. As previously stated, DIP #4 allows you to turn off the BT phone function on Mr.12V and use your factory BT phone, and the other DIP switches allow you to adjust the default volume for the Mr. 12V.

I have received my La-Power - great expectations, unfortunately completely disappointed. CD changer out, LaPower in. Result: Command no longer works. Then in the trunk telephone control unit bypassed by MOST-bridge.
Result : Again nothing. Command shows Mercedes star and then goes out.
Continuous plus is present, polarity was checked. As soon as the CD changer and telephone control unit are connected again, Command also goes on again.
The salesman is very friendly, he said something about updating the firmware... The Command? I didn't want to remove the Command module.
Any other ideas?

As long as you have NTG2 and not 2.5 (SD card slot on front) it should work. Remove MR12v and plug in all of your original equipment and make sure evrything is still working correctly. If it is working correctly, then turn off the comand and replace the multi DVD player with Mr. 12V install power/ground and fiber cables. Turn on comand....what happens? On the back of MR12V are 2 small holes with a red LED (power) and a blue LED (blue tooth signal) do they light up?
Hi,
i shutdown the command and then I plugged the power and fiber connection into the la power ... I have a c class and a 6x cd changer .. I unplugged the cd changer and pluged the la power in.
No lights, no lights at the fiber connection (la power).. the command won’t start up correctly (only the Mercedes Logo)...
if I removed the la power and use my cd changer everything works fine.

Yes, W203... 2007... C280 or C320 Avantgarde..
Best C-Class overall without big Problems. Nothing lights up.
I contact the Seller and he thinks its an firmware issue... I hope to fix it.. I like the original Look and the Command System had the best Radio Tuner. 3rd Party Radios have bad Sound and not the „original“ Look.
The Red Wire is + and the Black is Ground, right?
I will give an Update.
