I need a bit of help regarding retrofiting my 2002 W211 E320CDI. It is the inital model year that I bought a few months ago with the following mobile setup, that works if I put a SIM card in the old Nokia phone.
So, my question is, what do I need to do to get my Samsung S8 connected via bluetooth. The so called puck with tail or something else? Will I be able to sync my phonebook?
It's probably more like MB released that model in Europe first before releasing in to the US. Sometimes that makes sense, work the bugs out in one market before introducing into another. Sometimes it takes more than one year to find them all though.

Not really familiar with the earlier generation. I think the puck was for the face lifted models which I think was 2007-2009, the 2006 still had the old interior, they also did various things throughout the years. Easiest is probably getting an android replacement for the Comand, but it kinda ruins the factory look. That way you end up with both bluetooth for music and phone. The 2007-2009 puck only did voice, no music. The android ones also did navigation and some even put in backup cameras.
You can also check to see if you have an aux input in the glove box. On my 2007 it's on the top towards the center. I did have to pull the stereo and swap the cable as the ipod cable is hooked up to the deck from the factory. I just run Spotify on my phone through the aux input for music now. It works great.

I think he’s right, modern pucks are for facelifted ones, 2006 just had the engine changed to 350, exterior and interior wise were the same, 2006 ones even had the sbc system form what I know.

To be fair, bluetooth topics have been covered a lot on here. I did a search and there were 295 threads that came up just in the W211 section. I'm too lazy to look through them, but I wouldn't be surprised if an answer is in one of them.

I primarily want calling functionality. I have an AUX cable in the glovebox that I routed to between the front seats for music. What I read in the past for the android devices some mentioned is that I'd loose my HK7.1 audio unlees I get another amplifier or something along those lines.
So, that is why I asked - what are the steps I would need to take to get BT working. And yes, I did search before posting a new thread but still was not sure what is it exactly I need to buy. Some insight and help is still needed if someone does know.
