POLL: Are people generally satisfied or dissatisfied with their E320 acceleration?
I suspect that it is enough club for normal driving, but would like to hear first hand experiences.

i think its fine..i mean its enough horsepower..anything less than 221 would suck..its way faster when u switch to the shift mode..way faster i think, but im satisfied with it,if i wanted faster i would of got the e500
ps
IS300 sux..thats a luxoury toyota corolla..basically same thing..i almost got one a few years ago..hated it! my opinion tho..even if its faster,id rather have ane320 anyday over that toyota

The acceleration is decent, but I'm not happy with the way the car sometimes hesitate. The acceleration appeared to be smoother when I first got the car or when I change transmission from S (standard) to C (used to be W on old car). I took my car in for service and had dealer flash ECU according to some TSB posted here. I believed that fixed the acceleration somewhat. IMHO, this adaptive acceleration doesn't work too well.

I agree with jd. This car is *not* a sports car. The nice thing is that it does leave the line pretty well. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
It does have some weird quirks when it comes to engine/transmission controls though...
I've got other stuff to drive or ride if I want real speed...
For an everyday people mover/commuter car - the E320 acceleration is fine.

Part of the responsiveness issue is the high differential gear ratio. The good news is the better gas mileage. My wife and I took a 600 mile trip to Texas Hill country over the weekend. We went on a MB Club car rally on Saturday afternoon and then a 50 mile detour for photography on the way home. Even with a lot of idling, stop and go driving, spirited driving in the hills, a 120 mph speed run, cruising at 75-80 mph, and the A/C on the entire trip, we still averaged over 27.25 mpg for the weekend.
