new to me '04 E500 4M wagon hints owner mannual?
sold wifes '00 E320 wagon, travelled through a badly rusted R350 and landed on a decent '04 E500..
about 110k miles, seems a nice car iwth a few pimples..
glued the two wood handles back on for opening the phone/tunnel compartment, got a used rocker panel for passenger side (yet to replace the existing broken one), got a tailgate latch to replace the flaky existing one, replaced the battery's and it seems good to go..
NEED an owner manual.. got one in .pdf but it is 400+ pages.. so if anyone has one, please let me know how much..?

any hints, warnings, etc.
the local mercedes dealer did the oil and filter and a cursory check..
thanks

Oh yeah they are free!
my first car was a 5 year old 1949 Nash Statesman two door with a flat head 6 cylinder engine and a stick shift..
my first mercedes experience was a friends new 1959 300SL roadster.. which he let me drive around san francisco..
i'm telling you this so you will understand that i'm as old as dirt but hopefully not bound to join it for at least another 20+ years.. hopefully..

thus paper is really neat.. always there in the door pocket when gremlins are aroused..
BUT i might dedicate one of the two thinkpad tablets i have gathering dust to the .pdf E class manual which i did d/l to my big desktop monster with terrabytes of storage..
having looked at the manual, and i must admit it IS easier to search a .pdf, i still like paper to thumb through..
and my wife, who is still puzzling the message to "press reset" in NOT computer literate..
ebay wants too much for a manual set..
(if anyone wants an '02 SC600 manual set or a set of used coil packs, just ask)
i was hoping for a source of a manual for about $30 to $40..
the hints booklet and the comand manual and several other manuals were still with the car..
thanks for the replys..

even double side print that is half a ream..
still no takers to my ebay offers..
[sigh]
there is always 1-800-mercedes..

I like pdf manual mainly for the fact that I can take the laptop with me for 1 hr session in Jacuzzi and take my time to read the hundreds of pages. Finding something on 400 paper pages when you are in distress is not working very well, especially at night.
Carrying few lb of "dead weight" in the car is not good neither.
Bottom line, you don't read the manual at the time when you buy the car, you will never get really familiar with it and there is a limit how much emergency reading can help.
Coming to cursory check - you should ask for courtesy check. I took my 3 years old MB for sensor replacement and without asking they provided me with $5200 estimate.
Now that's a business

never thought they were "hot" manuals..
some offerings on ebay are the whole pack of manuals and so forth.. well, MOST of them are..
this E500 has all of everything EXCEPT the owner manual..

so far this '04 E500 is much nicer than the '00 E320 is most all ways..

Amazingly some cars can carry over $20 in coins under the carpets.
When you can find coin slots on some models, cupholders are not sealed for coins

Keep looking and I hope you find the paper version for your glove box. It would be nice for resale value. Our MB didn't come with the manual either. Both it and the second key were absent for the same reason as mentioned previously. I was pleasantly surprised that the 1st Aid kit, NAV DVD and tool kit was still in it though.

they had a three w211's less than a week old on the lot all hit from the front. I removed a shifter from an 05 e320 wagon that had for the most part
the entire interior still intact. While removing the shifter I really started looking at the steering wheel because mine is in horrible shape but I did not have
a long T30 Torx socket to remove it but I do now and I am planning to go back tomorrow. I flipped through the owners manual and data card along with everything
else that comes with a new car such as the quick help tips and etc you get the point because it was laying on the driver side floor mat. Its basically in brand new condition.
Hopefully you see this and let me know I can pick it up for you and send it your way. Not trying to make a profit I will just charge you whatever the junkyard charges me and
cost to ship it to you.
please pick it up if you can..
i imagine the '05 will be much the same as the '04..
only need the owner manual..
they are on ebay for $60 and up..
i will pay up to $40..
thanks
