Summer Opening Windows/Sunroof features doesn't work
Help:
I just found out that my summer features to open/close windows using SmartKey doesn't work. What did I do wrong?
1. I have tried as instructed in the manual. To open: Unlock the car, press and hold unlock button, then Windows/Sunroof should open and vice versa (to close)
2. My car is 2004 W211 with Appearance and Premium. Anything else that I have to order? No keyless go. I'm not sure, but I remembered my C-Class has small square black box in the doors' grips/handle. This new car doesn't have. Is this the one that causing problem?

I have found that I have to unlock the doors first and then aim the key at the front door handle and press and hold the unlock button again to get the windows and sunroof to open.

And you have to be fairly close to the car for this feature to work. Although the remote can lock/unlock the doors from farther away, you practically have to stand next to the car to use this feature.

I also found that I have to do mine very close and sometimes a couple of times to make it close or open all the way. I didn't know if there was a problem with the key or the car which makes this the case.

when you push the remote to unlock the doors 1 time do all door open or just drivers door? also usually must be close to drivers door handle area when attemting to use open window feature, be patient and hold button down without moving your hand around, any movement dissrupts signal and then you will have to restart process

Push the unlock & hold it while aiming at the little infa red receiving lens on the door handle. Its line of sight from the key IR transmit window to the IR receiving lens on the drivers handle.
