How wide the rims?
Each rim allows for about 20 mm different tire width, so if you want to play with different sizes, start with checking rpm of orginal tires and then once you find favorite tire model - chose the size that gets close to original rpm.
245 are wide tires for E and if you care more about fuel economy than hard cornering, - you can go narrower than that.
If the looks are your only priority- go for 300 in the rear and I thing 285 in front will fit.

There is no such thing as standard wheel on car model.
Did not see the catalog for W211, but W210 was living factory with more than 50 different wheels options.
Obviously the number doesn't make it to America.

Looks like good rim, but that model never made it to America.
US/Canadian models come heavy loaded, so are heavier than most other country models, what also adds wider wheels.
