Xenon vs. Standard Headlights

My dealer did a search and wasn't able to find one e320 4matic with the lighting package anywhere on the east coast.

He said that the standard lights are very good and most cars aren't order with the xenons. What do people think about this? I have xenons now so I know what I may have to give up.

xenons available here and there

if your willing to settle for what they have i will gladly give you info on cars, we have a few with lightning pkg, and there are 3 dealers on the east coast that have cars with lightning. i personal think xenons are great, especially now with the curve sensing ability

Don't buy the car w/o Xeon. I had a 2003 E320 with standard headlights, and got the free replacement 200 E320 w/NAV and paid extra for the Xeons. Quite a difference and I would never go back!!

Get the HIDs!!! They're remarkably brighter than the brightest halogen setup. For the price we're paying for this car, I don't understand why MB doesn't make HID come standard.

Get the Bi-Xenon's. They stand out very well at night when you are driving down the road

Also the light distribution is extremely uniform. You will love the output!

Agreed. It still irritates me that a car that stickers for over $53,000 (with options) doesn't have HIDs, full leather and metallic paint standard.

My freakin' $33,000 Honda came standard with all three items...

Well..... I see everyone agree's for once.

I also say get the bi-xenons... The active feature will blow your mind and is worth every penny. I have a Hard time believing your dealer about tha fact that most cars are ordered without.... Guess theres alot of poor souls out there missing out on a great option not to mention blazing a trail at night.. Wait for a ride with them you won't regret it....

On a previous thread I read a very funny statement. Obviously not relevant here though

"How do you know when a sales person is telling 'untruths'?"

The reply was, "When there lips move"

Bi-xeons are fantastic and come as standard on European Avantgarde model E-class. Active headlights are a seperate option.

Good luck with your choice,
John

Question

Clarification please? I thought xenons were standard and that it was only bi xenons that were optional. Is this correct? Like everyone else who has posted on this thread I have the bi xenons so don't know what you get without the lighting package.

PLEASE do NOT get confused I am saying that bi-xenons are standard on European E-class Avantgarde models.

Relevant extract....

"""Ambient interior lighting front
and rear, dimmable
Automatically dimming rear-view mirror
and driver’s exterior mirror
Bi-Xenon headlamps with headlamp wash
and dynamic range adjustment
Bird’s eye maple wood trim"""
