I picked up a iPod and purchased the Belkin and Griffin FM transmitter and sound quality is terrible in the car. Is the Monster iCarPlay Wireless any better or should I just wire it through the AUX in the glove department.

I use the same method with my C320 sedan which has COMAND. I am getting quite tired of burning CDs for the SLK though.

Seems I have to crank the volume on the iPod all the way up when using the AUX input... and even then, the sound level coming out is lower compared to the built-in CD or radio.... am I doing something wrong?

P.S.: In the USA, you can buy this adapter at a Target store. So if you would like to encourage companies like Target to continue stocking accessories for things like your iPod, why not buy it there? It will be relatively inexpensive, a lot of them are open to 10pm even on a Sunday... what's not to like?

Have you guys tried the iPod Mini? I have one and it is a lot better than the regular iPod (I have also a 30 gig). Its tiny and very elegant. Only 4 gigs of space, but what the heck, that's still a lot of songs.
I use the aux jack as well and use the headphone jack, so yes you have to crank the volume, big deal! Its not like you have to adjust the main volume by using the iPod, you just use the radio knob.

I tried this exact setup on my car, however no music comes through the AUX jack when plugged into the belkin kit. My friend says the car probably doesn't allow a preamped source, did you have to do anything special to get it to work?

1) Make sure AUX is selected;
2) The connector may have come out of the back of the COMAND
Your XM installation caused one of the installers to be a bit distraught...

The iPod works fine if I don't use the AMP. When I plug-in the Belkin component it simply stops working, however somehow after switching between Logic7 and standard settings, and also lowering the volume of the Belkin component it started working.
When I turned the car on later it stopped working (I could still hear sound but it sounded choppy with lots of interference), so I really don't know what is wrong. But the AUX jack seems to work as long as the source is the iPOD and not the amplifier.
