Brake Recall.. went to the dealer today

I brought my car in for some minor repairs...and i asked if i could get the brake recall done. My advisor checked my vin in the computer ( i have a june 5 2003 build) and said nothing yet and they dont even have the software yet to fix it.. anyone hear differently??/ He also said that the recalls are more geared towards the european cars..which makes sense but still if its the same brakes ...how can it matter...anyway just wanted to share with all of you.

How can you tell if a salesperson is telling whoopsie's????

It appeals to my sense of humour though to think that Australians may indeed be considered 'European'

As stated in a previous thread this is the only 'official' information that I have located so far. It would appear though that in time the inspections will be carried out.

Hmm, John. I remember a thread where you said something like "I also considered importing a car from Europe". So until your Brits finally wake up, and accept that you now are a part of EU, (Norway is not ), don't blame the Aussies

Your memory is as usual 'spot-on'. I had read somewhere that large savings could be made by purchasing my new car from Europe.

When it comes to saving money, I have never been known to be at the back of the queue. Unfortunately there proved not to be any significant saving when I purchased my vehicle. Having said that though I had best very quickly clarify that. There are large savings to be made purchasing 'some' brands. Unfortunately the E-class was not one of them.

I am also not happy about the fact that my countries court decisions can be overturned by European bureaucrats. Persons found guilty in a British court of law may appeal against conviction, have that appeal refused, and then might be able to appeal to the European Court and have the conviction quashed??? More

I am not blaming the Australians for 'us' being in Europe, I am hopefully politely pointing out that Australia is NOT European (They are also NOT the Rugby World Champions )

Have you had the Mp3 upgrade yet???

Regards,
John

Good answers! Will discuss British Laws with you in an upcoming e-mail.

Be prepared, and start reading about G4 and B6! (Just kidding...)

The MP3 upgrade was released May 18. Not in Norway yet (probably take some time to send it out of Europe) .
