No heat from rear vents

2003 E500. The codes I'm getting are 93F8 Communication error of AC bus with component M16/30(Left rear blending air flap actuator motor) and 9380 Communication error of AC bus with component M16/31(Right rear blending air flap actuator motor). Is it possible that both have gone bad at the same time? Does anyone know where they are located so I can try swapping one?

Very possible. Those two motors are located above srs module. Dash removal needed, unless you know what you're doing you can snake them out but it's a pita. I would test them first to make sure they are in fact faulty. May be something simple like they need to be taught in again...

The SRS module is located behind the cigarette lighter correct? Are they behind the comand unit/radio? Dash removal shouldn't be a problem for me, I replaced the comand unit/radio not that long ago... I just don't want to tear the whole thing apart when it isn't required

IDK. You can pull comand and see if you can access motors but they are attached to ventilation case which is hidden behind dashboard. yes, srs module is beneath ash tray...

I was able to access the air flap actuator motors from the footwell's. Clearly the mechanic that worked on this car for the last owner did not like them very much because they were both unplugged! Plugged them back in and they are working great....

I have not heard any odd noises and the air works perfectly in the rear of the vehicle so unlikely. I guess I'll see what happens over the next few weeks...
