SL55 wheels installed

Just installed my used SL55 AMG wheels wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ rubber. 245/40/18 up front, 275/35/18 in the back. Yes, I'm running staggered sizes on a 4Matic but those two sizes are very close, less than 1cm difference in circumference. They're actually closer than the setup that comes stock on some cars, with a 265 rear tire. The offset is lower than stock, ET30 front and ET33 rear, so they stick out more and are nearly flush with the fender, especially the rear. No rubbing at all at stock ride height. Mud flaps, at least in the front, are a must though. Still looking for a rear set but they're out of production and hard to find used.

Looks nice - have you considered installing lowering links to reduce the wheel well gap?

Thanks. I thought lowering links were only for cars with Airmatic suspension? I haven't seen a kit yet that works with regular shocks/springs. Even regular lowering springs, I don't see very many options for 4Matic cars? I also don't want the ride quality to suffer, it's already stiff enough with the 18" wheels, the roads around here aren't very good.

You're right about the links - I mistakenly thought you had airmatic.
I'm with you on keeping the ride quality smooth - big priority for me too.
