Bleeding E500 Coolant System

OK, I've searched and searched and can't find a definitive answer. I had to remove two coolant hoses to replace my alternator and need to refill the system and bleed it. I've read that it's self-bleeding and that all I need to do is fill it up, start the car, turn the heater on and get it up to temp, let all the bubbles come out, top it off, and that's about it. Can someone confirm for me that this is correct?

Thanks Konigstiger, are these in Startek? I have a subscription but didn't know if these maintenance guides were in there.

Also, the docs don't say how to bleed it, it just says "Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system". Are there instructions anywhere on how to correctly do that?

I changed my coolant about a year ago after reaching 150K. How you describe the "operation" is precisely what I did, and yes system self bleeds. However, I used distilled water before I put in the MB coolant, and I drained it 3 times. I ran heater at full speed and I drove it around to reach operating temp. When I ran distilled water the third time, water drained was like 90% clear. I could've ran it thru a 4th time, but I had run out of distilled water to allow me to do an additional flush. After I was done, the next morning when car was cold, I opened the reservoir and added maybe like 3-4 ounces of distilled water, that was it. My W211 system's capacity is 1 gallon of MB coolant and 1 gallon of distilled water. I got my distilled water from Walmart and they were no more than a buck a gallon. It's real simple, not rocket science.
