'05 When?
05s
I have an '05 E500 wagon on order. My dealer says it is scheduled for production in the first "decade" (first 10 days) of June. Should arrive at dealer in early to mid July. I that's toward the begining of 05 production. I noticed someone else mention August for an order placed now. Not sure which model that was.
The dealer production info I passed along came from his MB system computer. I don't know how accuracte that is. Anyone know??
He has an incentive to get the new one to me ASAP as he bought back my 02 ML500 and has loaned me an 04 ML till new E arrives. I guess he'd like to get that loaner back.
I've been given NO price info yet. When I know more I'll post.

04's (actual cars) hit the dealers in the U.S in nov of 03.... Seems to me the 05s should be about a year after??? If in deed the 05's hit dealers here in the U.S as early as July as some has stated then this would mean MB only sells model years for 8 months??? This seems unlikely to me.... But this is my first MB so I'm just not sure....

MB has raised prices across the board about 2%. I believe they want to get the higher pricing in. 2005 is not going to be best year to get an E-class. Decontenting, more limited option selections in the US, higher prices, end of free maintenance, AND the last year of the old 6-cylinder engine.
2006 will be primo: AWD CDI and probably CDI wagon, maybe E400 CDI(?), new 6-cylinder, maybe mid-life styling update.

Uhhh, I was mainly responding to Oslo's post explaining and relaying information that in the US some 2005's are already here.I also was sharing info with others alerting them about different 05 MB being available in case they might be thinking of an additional/other Benz.

You mean like when you replied to mine the first time without a quote. Really, I think the good folks around here are smart enough to figure the intent of my message out for themselves with out the extra "quotes". I was only trying to be helpful and was quite aware of the thread title. I've been on this board a lot longer than you and most people seem to appreciate the extra info wheather it be 100% germane or not.
You're welcome.
The post below from caneman is a an example of this found on the W209 forum in a thread pertaining to the new/upcoming 2005 CLK, the 2nd link is great info for many other 2005 MB models including the '05 E. Some of the models have details listed between the 04's and 05's, I'll ask caneman if he can get an updated pdf for the 211. Here it is in case you or anyone missed it:
You might find this interesting

I drove Mrs O'Brien to see her son in my S211
Mrs O'Brien comes to visit her son Seamus for 3 days in Dublin where he is studying. She finds out that her son lives with Vikki, a girl flatmate.
Mrs O'Brien couldn't help but notice how pretty Seamus's flatmate was. She had suspected a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious. Reading his Mum's thoughts, Seamus volunteered, "I know what you
must be thinking, but I assure you, Vikki and I are just flatmates."
About a week later, Vikki came to Seamus saying, "Ever since your
mother left, I've been unable to find the silver sugarbowl. "You don't suppose she took it do you?" "Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be
sure."
So he sat down and wrote:
Dear Mam,
I'm not saying that you "did" take the sugar bowl from my house, and I'm not saying that you "did not" take it. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you left.
Love, Seamus
Several days later, Seamus received an email from his Mam which read:
Dear Son,
I'm not saying that you "do" sleep with Vikki, and I'm not saying that you "do not" sleep with her. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the sugar bowl by now.
Love, Mam.
Lesson of the day... Don't Lie to Your Mother...especially if she is Irish!
Sorry about it not being completely 'on thread' but it's nice to smile.
Keep smiling everyone
Have a nice day
Regards,
John

Women are like internet domains. All the ones I like are taken, but I can still get one from a strange country.
