Cooling fan

can anybody please guide me in right direction, my radiator cooling fan on my 2003 E320 w211 will not turn on when temp is up to 100 , but it will turn on if I turn ac on. My heater sometimes sends warm air other times cold air . But radiator fan does not come on when car temp is over 100 . New thermostat, coolant temp sensor. Coolant flush. What can I do next . It’s costing me for everything I try and can’t figure it out. Also can fan motor be bad even if it still turns on when ac or heater is turned on? I tried connecting straight to battery and it does not turn on, very confusing. What is this part called connected to one of hoses that says 12 volts
What is this part called ?

Not sure if this would fix your problem, but I was reading on the other forum under "Fan Stuck," where a member who had a somewhat similar problem disconnected their fan relay, inside engine bay fuse box, and that appeared to reset things. He also mentioned how disconnecting the main battery didn't do a reset because juice was still available thru the SBC smaller battery. I'm sure others here could pitch in and enlighten all of us All the best!

Fan relay

thank you very much for your response . Do you mean just to unplug relay and plug it back in ? With or without key in ignition? Because I’ve pulled relay to check it with multimeter and put it back in with no change. Or is there a procedure he did. Thanks for any help , I appreciate it

If you've pulled fan relay and nothing happened, then it's not a relay issue. Hopefully someone with knowledge about this will shed some light! I'd avoid pulling fuses and relays with key in ignition.

Fan problem

thanks again for taking time to respond. Much appreciated. But the key was not in when I removed or put back in. So if fan turns on when I turn ac on but not when temperature goes over 100 could fan still be bad or what other possibilities could it be? And the pic I sent do u know what that is?

See attached overview n3/10 is actually incorporated into front SAM, pull SAM to visually inspect if all seems fine “may” need replacement.
