08 W211 E300 Rim and Tire size 8Jx17 vs H2
Hi Guys,
Ok, so I'm planning to replace my OEM rims and I noticed in my manual that the approved rim size is 8J x 17 H2. This may be a stupid question but what is the difference between 8J x 17 H2 and 8J x 17 (with no H2)? Also, can I replace them with rims size 8.5 x 17 ?
Another question I have is my car originally came with 245/45R17 99H XL tires (all season). But after a very long search, I found out in my user manual that the approved tire size is 245/45 R17 95H M+S (for all season tires). Do you think it would be OK to downgrade from 99H XL to 95H SL or 95W SL? I know 99 XL can carry more load but do you think it would still be safe to have 95W SL under normal daily driving conditions? (I don't carry much cargo, usually just groceries, and generally only max 3-4 people in the car.)
Thank you
