Warning lights from water Ingress?

I came out yesterday after a long nights and days rain to find my driver seat soaked the sun visor on the driver side soaked and the floorboard underneath the driver seat soaked, I believe someone was messing around with my sunroof and didn't close it all the way probably not me ? When I took the car for a drive I was receiving multiple warning messages such as left brake light out, left tail lamp out, right brake lamp out, Etc , five messages in all. I put the car in the garage put two fans over the rear driver side passenger area and over the driver's seat after vacuuming out what moisture I could from the floor board and the floor mats. I came out today the floorboard appeared to be dry the seat appeared to be try and now my message is intermittent but I'm still getting it with the tail lights. The funny thing is the tail lights are working. What I am wondering is there an electrical connection or the wiring for all the tail lights does that run underneath the driver's seat or somewhere along the floorboard on the driver side and the moisture is causing these intermittent error messages? And I forgot to mention it is a 2005 E500 wagon.

Most likely this connector. It links the front driver's side SAM, the CGW, and the rear SAM to the CANBUS. Your brake light switch communicates with the front SAM which then communicates to the rear SAM which then activates the rear lights. Sounds like the data is being corrupted or was corrupted. Water bad for these systems. Pull the plastic plate on the door sill, then lift the carpet and plastic cover. Water displacing spray is good but at the least open it up and put a fan on it in a warm low-humidity garage.

Every time I try to leave the sunroof open after removing the key, the car gets mad and says to CLOSE THE SUNROOF!
Seems like there's more than a few threads on here about water coming in through there and it never is good news.

Do newer models close the sunroof automatically or has mercedes figured out how to make things a bit more water resistant yet? Cuz they obviously know it's a problem, based on the dashboard warning.

In the US market for 211, windows and roof are set to manual close only.

In star, you can set them to automatic(but not for panoramic sliding roofs).

There is also an option for rain detection, it will automatically close sunroof if it detects rain.
