My original 2003 E320 had the HK sound system w/o the HK tag on the speakers in front. My replacement NAV E320 delivered in Sept 2003 has the Harmon Karndon plate on the front speakers by driver and passenger feet.

Big difference though...
...between the '03 premium (w/o nav) and now '04 premium (w/nav) sound systems. The bass is pretty much non-existent on the newer H-K (with name plates on speakers) system; it sounds muffled and, therefore, useless.
The older model system had great bass.

As mentioned, see if you have Logic7 as an option in your menu screens. Also, you can check in your trunk for the 12" sub (tiny *** thing) in the center of the rear deck. I have an 04 and have H/K badges. If you have the changer most likely you have H/k as it was some sort of stereo package??

Yup to Logic
I do indeed have the same speaker setup as with my previous '03 (same subwoofer), but the bass is woefully inferior to what I had.
That said, the car is much quieter with what I am assuming is better sound deadening material (perhaps on the sub shelfing area!) as well as the quieter 7G transmission.
I just wish the stereo bass was as good as before... so to compensate until I get some feedback from M-B, I've changed to playing more jazz than rock

My pre-nav 2003 E320 didn't have the name plate on the speakers either, my replacement car did. Either way, if the car has a sunroof then it has the HK since it was only available as a package back then I believe.

Yes, the bass in the '04 HK system is woefully inadequate. That's why I supplemented it with a sub box and amp. The angled/wedge shape of the JL box takes up surprisingly very little space in my trunk. It's angle conforms to the back of the rear seats in the trunk. It's a clean, easy to remove solution.

The sound is great. The logic 7 is great. When you turn it up, somehow you don't "feel" as if you can rattle the windows with the sound. It almost feels as if there isnt enough amp power, but that's not true since all of the full rich sound is there. Its a perception thing, I think. The old Bose systems on the previous generation were weak, cheap sounding radios compared to these. I've never heard a decent Bose car audio system.
This radio is GOOD.
