New Wheels Advice

Hi all,
I just bought 18x8F /18x9R et 35(both) for my W211(E280). This is to upgrade my OEM 16" wheels. Unfortunately my front wheels cap wont go in due to the hub almost sticking out.

1/ Do Benz have cap that stick out or should I go with a spacers?
2/ what sizes of spaces should I go with? Any suggestion for the brand(s)?

thanks

NOPE, That very soon would lead to bearing contamination and failure.
But you are dealing with cosmetic side results, where main problem is wrong offset.
Your wheels go under the car less than factory design, so you might have whole chain of effects. Any fender rubbing on full turn over the ditch?
Worse come to worse, you can cut MB caps holding tabs and silicon the cap to dust cap.

Yea, it seems that my main problem is wrong offset. Everything seems alright, no fender rubbing. I dont want to cut/take off anything. Now i'm looking for a thick wheel caps (if there's any) to hide those bearing dust caps as they look awkwardly like that. 😂

When I had my E550, I ran into this issue and removed the front caps.......nevr was an issue.....had the car a couple of years after that as well.
BUT, some folks may advise against that.

The new caps sell in whole variety very cheap on ebay.
Looks like you might want blacks caps, meaning repainting.
I have whole box of old (silver) caps that you are welcome to few. Pay me the shipping and I mail them.

I would definitely say do NOT remove the dust caps... they are there for a reason and if you want crap to get in there and screw up the wheel bearings, then by all means remove them. They are there to keep, water, dust/dirt out of the bearings. Plus it looks like *** with them removed. Take a caliper and measure the diameter of the opening and just finds wheel caps that fit. Who ever makes the wheels should be able to supply caps so the wheel doesn't look bad. Can you not trim or modify some ebay mb test caps to try and fit in the wheel? I say ebay test caps because you are probably going to destroy one or two before you get it to look decent... better to destroy the crappy ebay ones than oem mb ones..

yea, some of the people I asked are against removing them. I'm still deciding what to do with them at the moment. Considering the roads here and environments.

Thanks for your advice Nigel. Will ask around here if Im able to trim/modify them. Else, will buy the ebay ones and do what at I can for trial and error in order to fit my wheel caps.
