W211 AC Not Cold, 60ish PSI Low Side
Hi there!
I'm currently trying to fix my mom's AC in her 2004 E500. It's been struggling to get cold for a while but the other day it was just blowing warm air. I got one of those AC recharge kits and the pressure gauge said it was really, really high at 60ish PSI. IT's around 85 degrees out.
The drivers side vents blow warm, but the passenger side vent in the center blows cooler. Not cold, but cooler than the rest. The rear vents are cooler all together, but still not as cold as they should be.
Should I go to the dealer to see if they can just flush the system all together, or is the high PSI an indicator of a larger issue? I know the compressor is weird and it's not the standard clutch so it likes to spin up, could that be cause of the high pressure?
Thanks!

This is how you can troubleshoot the system in just minutes while keeping your hands clean.
Unless you have 4-zones climatronic who displays hidden menu like in older brother, you will have to use scanner to read the sensors and errors.

Or you can get loaner manifold gauge set and read high and low side of the system.
High side must have at least 200psi at 85F. If you put in a 1 lb can correctly and you still have an issue, you have a leak, that is if it was working last year. First thing that usually goes is rhe compressor seals. If you want to do your own AC work buy a set of gauges.

Never ever ever just charge without knowing BOTH high and low pressures. 60psi low could indicate its massively overcharged and you’re risking damaging the compressor. The w211 unfortunately has no independent clutch and it runs all the time.
get it evacuated ASAP before you do some real damage
