Question Which option do you regret not having gotten?

For me, it is the wood/leather steering wheel. Wish I'd gotten that! Now it's $750 out of pocket (plus labor, I'm sure)...

I thought I really wanted the panoramic sunroof--I still like it--but the headroom in the backseat seems compromised as a result.

Agree, RAD. Next time, I will have the wood wheel. And drop some options that I got, but don't care about:

Dynamic seats (I’m a big guy, and don’t need the extra support from the Dynamic seat)

Cornering Headlights

Wagon (Estate). My next car will be a sedan.

The Premium Package. I ordered before I knew the pricing, and thought that it was going to be a lot of money for stuff I really didn't need. But found out with my mix of options that I could have saved money and got the Active Venilated which I wanted, and the sun shades which I would not have minded having).

I would have probably also got Keyless Go if I had known it would have been cheaper.

The folding rear seat. Our E500 wasn't bespoke from the options list, so I can't much blame myself for not getting it. The car we bought off the lot was otherwise the most suitable of the four new E500s in the Sacramento area at the time, but it didn't happen to have the folding rear seat. Wish it did. I recently had to bring a load of 8' molding back from Home Depot, and I ended up putting the roof rack on my '73 Datsun 510 to carry it because the molding didn't fit into even the E500's cavernous trunk. What really PO's me about not having a folding rear seat is that they are standard equipment on most $15,000 cars. Making a folding rear seat standard on our cars might have cut into D-C's razor-thin profit margin on the W211, though.

AMG package and Dynamic seats.....

If you have chance to join MB E Ralley at Big Bear, you will know the importance of Dynamic seats. The AMG sport package... factory installed is always the cheaper and better than after market.

Opinion like wooden steerling wheel... Com'on man, that could be dealer install but not like Dynamic seats....

You are of course being sarcastic. I think it is really silly that I had to pay for this option.

Wish I could have ordered the Sport Pkg, but I didn't like the Black Wood trim. I couldn't see the grain that well & it looked like black plastic to me, so I stayed w/ the "brown" wood & gave up the nice instrument cluster & apearance pkgs....oh well.

Should have gotten:
Electronic trunk closer
NAV system

Should have not gotten:
Dynamic seats

We got the '03 E and as a result got screwed out of the NAV system since there's no way that we could retrofit it. Electronic trunk closer is also a nice feature for when your hands are full with something like grocery bags.

As for the dynamic seats - they are useless and have never been used since the car was purchased.

Wish I would have gotten the ventilated seats. Next time. At least I'm having the Nav retrofitted shortly so that will only the leave the seats as something I should have ordered.

Actually, the wood looks much better with the stone. If yo had gone with an ash interior, the appearance package would have been nice. However, IMHO, the Pewter exterior makes the ash look like a pale grey puddy (bad). So you would have needed a different exterior color.

White/ash appearance package?

Pewter/stone appearance package?

Pewter/stone with wood?

Would have gone with the trunk closer and let the intergrated phone go.

The Electronic Trucnk Closer option (881) was $490. I didn't order it--it came on the car. But I still like it nevertheless, and would order it if I were actuallly ordering a car.

Of course, I think it should be a standard feature on this car!
