removing intake manifold on 06 e350
is there anything to be aware of when removing the intake manifold on 06 e350?
or is it pretty straightforward with no catch to it or anything catastrophic happening if I don't stick a needle in a right spot
the plastic flaps broke off and I want to fix that before they fall into the runners
would it be easier to rebuild this one or is it cheaper to just buy a refurb one?

If you search the threads, it's come up a lot in the past. My own research leads me to conclude that you should just replace the intake manifold with a Pierburg one which was OEM for Mercedes. You can get the kit at fcpeuro. There are also several youtube vidoes on how it's done on the m272 engine.

That’s a pretty expensive replacement so even though it is a pain I would remove and fix it. If the flaps later failed you could buy a new one and swap the metal arm to the new one.
