07 E220 CDI Timing Chain Replacement?

New member here - I've just recently acquired a 2007 E220 CDI (European Specs) with approx 224,000 km.
Runs great, no clicks, knocking, rattles, squeaks, or strange noises.

I read online that the chain must be replaced at 250,000 km or "it will break". However I've looked through these forums and can't find any legit information indicating it must be changed at X interval.
My fear is a broken chain and catastrophic damage, but an equal fear is the cost of a new chain on a vehicle that doesn't need it.

I have no indication that the chain has been replaced already - nothing in the maint log.

Any information or advise is welcome.

Best Regards.

Agreed.

155,000 miles is nothing for a diesel engine or even a Mercedes gas one.
