Bad MAF sensor ?? Please help

Hi everyone !
When I start the car E220 CDI, engine feels like it's stalling, rough idle, engine shaking...etc..

While Idle, I disconnected the MAF sensor plug and engine stopped shaking and sound better.
Can it be a problem with the MAF sensor ?

probably dirty or faulty maf...still can be something else though… we can get more technical with scan tool data if you have it.

Intake temp sensor is part of the MAF from what I know?
When my son had MAF failing on his ML320, he had 10 codes, when the car still drove without symptoms.
New MAF resolved them all.
With bluetooth OBD scanners selling for less than $10, you have no excuse not to own one.

Still bad

Replaced MAF sensor, still the same issue.
And only with cold engine. If I start the engine and leave it idle for 1min and after that rev it till 2000rpm , engine start to work rough.

Also when I switched ON ignition, I can hear a strange sound coming from the engine - maybe common rail system.

Have you considered the Crankshaft Position Sensor?
It will give a code P0335 when it fails, but sometimes it won't give a code at all.
Usually stalling, hard starting occur just before it is about to fail.
