I was driving last night, pulled into a turning lane as I pulled off the brake and started to drive the accelerator went out and I was unable to drive forward. Luckily I was pulled off to the side by an on passer. Now when I go into Drive mode I get a grinding noise and it doesn't go forward, however am able to reverse. Before taking it to a dealership, I'm trying to have a general idea of what I'm dealing with before being jerked around with cost.

Any help, I'd appreciate.
