Nevada Jack,

How does the build quality of your grill compare to the original? Also, is the hood release latch more prominent on the CL grill than in the original grill? Thanks.

By the way the photos look great.

I think the build quality is a little lighter than the original grille. The design of the original with chrome all around the edge seems to make it stronger. I would hesitate to pull the hood down with the new grille plastic edge. I grab the hood on each side of the grille and pull it down that way.

The release is easier to get a hold of with the new grill because the Star on the grille is further from the hood edge and wider and when you put your fingers in to pull on it, it is right there for you to grab. On the old grille it was in between the top opening and I had to fish for it sort of.

Hope that helps. Thanks on the photos

Canada company so add $46 shipping and insurance for UPS Ground. $59 for 3 day service. That is for 1 item...double the shipping if you add a second item.

well, how do you think the guy on Ebay is making moeny on $199 each grill?
I am sure the cost total for him is about $75-$125 max. I am not really trying to make $$. Just trying to benefit myself and others. $59 is not much. But, still. it's 5900 penny!!!
I talked to someone and I think I got a lead already!! Let me know who is interested. Maybe i can get a big order and get them cheap!!

Finally did it...and very happy!!

After seeing all the pics on here, I finally bought the grille and flat emblem from Jerry at ForMyMercedes.Com. Just as everyone had said, Jerry was great to deal with and the product was first class and very easy to install. I went back and forth about whether to get the black grille or wait until the silver grille was available as I was unsure about how the black would look on the Desert Silver (light gold for my money!), but I really like the black...and the new look on my car. Now, unfortunately, I want to start changing everything - starting with the rims/tires...this could get expensive, but fun!!

Hey

anyone else interested in getting the CL grill? I think I can get it for $200 if I can get enough people interested.

I think these grills look terrific and am tempted, but there's something for me about seeing that star hood ornament as I cruise down the road...hmmmm...

You bet! I waited a long time, & bought a lot of pretenders hoping to feel this way, & I want to see the world thru that "sight".

Not bad, as long as you don't match the chrome grill with chrome windshield wipers.
