E200 Sport W211
My w211 (Kompressor Sport) Build Thread OEM+ (With Pics)
Hello from Ireland ! So I picked up my w211 M271 e200 Kompressor Just a little over 17 Months now and I just said I would post up a little thread of different Things I've done with it. Its come with a good few hurdles i've had to cross but i'm happy with the results so far !
This is what it looked like when I picked it up ! It is the E200 1.8 Auto Sport Avantgarde Black with Full black leather, 137,000 Miles. Timing chain / Timing Gears / Camshaft Magnets all done by me when purchasing. I went for this model because it was low tax of €636 per year unlike the €1200+ for other years and bigger engines !
So heres how it looked the night I collected it
It needed a seat repair as soon as I got it
Followed by a full 3 stage Buff and sealant just to get me by before going for paint ! Also Fitted new new German Style Reg Plates !
I then lowered it using HR springs and discovered the rear Subframe bushings had to be burned out to remove the rusted out rear arms which rusted because of the plastic covers on the rear lower control arms which all together cost me around €900 to lower the car 20mm ! I was disappointed with the H&R drop because it listed 40mm but it was more realistically 10-15mm. If i knew that I would have gone with coilovers !
Then Tints:
Then after my spoiler was fitted alongside the tints I fitted new Cam Shaft Magnets which give issues with leaking Oil into the ECU !
I Then set my eyes on this lip on ebay. After looking everywhere for a lip to fit the non AMG bumper I finally found this one ! Really
crap quality fibreglass lip, it does the job but god help if I ever hit something ! The Non AMG Front lip spoiler for w211 facelift turned out well in the end though !
Here's a picture of how it looked when being fitted by my good Friend Lee who is a specialist in this type of thing !
I Then got the full rear and front of the car painted lip fitted and gave it a good clean. All paint was done by a certified mercedes body shop !
I Then picked up some 20mm front and rear 15mm spacers to bring the standard wheels out a little before i got them refurbished ! After fitting them I did find that
the rear spacers were hitting the arches so I did plaine 2-3mm off each spacer. Perfect fit was 20mm front and rear 13mm to flush the factory wheels with the arches!
Then I picked up some aftermarket DRL lights ! The W211 DRL from the later model really tidied up the front of the car I think ! Pretty easy to fit ,
I was left with errors on the dash though ! But I don't mind Ill get the codes taken out for the fogs .
I Then Refurbished my alloys and painted them with BMW Pearl Grey and diamond cut them for OEm finish ! I was literally thrilled
with the job DCWR done with my wheels , Fantastic job all together ! Now to get them fitted
Ill have more pictures to follow as Ive just picked up some BMW side skirt extensions from an e60 (5 series) Which im going to retrofit because
I cannot find one decent side skirt extension for the W211 anywhere !
