Help needed. ESP & ABS light on after fitting bigger wheels.

I fitted a set of 20" wheels on my 2003 E270 CDi.
Rear tyres are 275/35 and fronts are 235/30 (to clear top control arm). After driving it for a couple of minutes the ABS and ESP light came on and the speedo went to 0km/h and the car stays in one gear. How can I reset this to suit the new wheel sizes?
Any help will be appriciated.

Your tires have badly mismatched rpms, so your computer things you are losing traction.
Go to the tire manufacturer site and find tires who have rpm within 2 % difference.

I thought it might be something like that. Is there no other way around it? As I already bought the tyres

You are putting yourself in danger, if that is your goal.

Going to try 245/30 in the front and then do a lower profile in the rear to match the O.D.

Hope it works out

Not to mention cracked rims and blown tires when you go that high and that low a profile tire.

you hoped once and now have to spend money again.
When hope in technical World is still good thing, in this case you can read rpm of the tires you'd like to buy and match the to the tires you already have.
Numbers don't fall under hope.
Probably too late now, but cetialpha5 made good point.
On W212 forum who left factory on 17 and 18" wheels - wheel repairs are the longest topics.
Not to mention that not everybody agree that 20" on E looks good.

So had them put 245/30 up front on a 9j rim and 275/30 in the rear on a 10.5j rim. Works perfectly.... drives nice and feels allot more stable on the road. On these diameters the difference between the front and rear are 2.2%
