Facelift E350/E500 wagon question

Hello E-wagon experts,

Do all 07-09 W211 wagons have airmatic struts in the rear or are there cars that sold without them in the US?

Thanks!

Yes, 07-09 front coil springs over gas shock absorbers rear air suspension with automatic level control: http://www.auto-brochures.com/mercedes_benz.html

No, the rear air suspension is not airmatic, just self leveling airbags. The airbags and shocks on the rear only self leveling are different from airmatic and not interchangable. The only component they have in common with airmatic is the pump behind the front bumper.

Thanks! - How is the reliability and longevity of this system compared to the regular airmatic suspension and how expensive are the struts / parts to replace?

Part replacement cost Google air spring OEM part # 2113200925 and compressor 2113200304, see attachment for leak testing just as common on wagon as sedans with airmatic (search 211 forum for airmatic) only isolated to rear.

Reliability per component is similar just fewer failure points. Rear airbags are 1/2 the price of airmatic.
