ribbon cable for dome light

I accidently tore the ribbon cable for the rear dome light. Never had to fix one before, any tips? thanks

Just buy a new one, they are about $15-20 from the dealer.

I just bought one trying to get rear ambient lighting working. (currently waiting on a new front console).

Is yours the 3 or 4 wire ribbon cable?

I'll have to go out there and take a look. I'd guess 4 wire. did you already change yours? was it a pain?

Do those ribbon cables have a connector that you plug in, or are they ZIF (zero-insertion force) connectors? ZIF's can be a little disconcerting the first time you deal with them, but it is generally an issue of pushing a clip up, pulling out the old ribbon, inserting the end of the new ribbon, and pushing the clip down to lock it into place.
